Reading For Fun: Christmas Worksheet

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

Merry Christmas!

And my gift to all is a Christmas themed worksheet: Holiday: Christmas #1

To skip ahead and get right to printing:

All worksheets on my site are free to use and are geared to promote kids to read just for the fun of it.

To read more, continue below:

Although these worksheets are meant to be used as a way to record thoughts about books and help create a sense of achievement about reading, there is sometimes a need for a few questions just for the fun of it about life in general. And that’s where the two Christmas ornaments—or perhaps you call them baubles—come in.

‘What is your favorite Christmas tradition’ and ‘what is your favorite Christmas song’ are the two prompts. The answers can be written below the question in the picture, or perhaps below that in the blank space, or even on the back of the page. Another idea is to use them as verbal prompts and just enjoy the conversation.

Getting to the book portion of the worksheet, a mighty Christmas tree is formed by questions about the book that was just read. The questions are general and can be used with any book, not just holiday-themed books.

The first two important questions at the top of the tree are book title and author name.

After that are a couple of lighthearted questions: ‘Is there a Christmas scene’ and ‘does the cover match the story.'

Next are some questions to think about the story as a whole with setting and rating being requested.

Five mini stars are provided to color in the rating, five being the best and none being the worst.

And the final four questions are great opinion questions: ‘what made you want to keep reading’ ‘who is your favorite character’ ‘what is something you like about the story’ and ‘what is something you didn’t like about the story’.

Lastly, under everything is room for a summary of the book. If more space is needed, the backside of the page is a blank slate, just waiting to be used.

And there you have it, 2018 Christmas Reading For Fun Worksheet. Please enjoy!
